# The 7 mistakes that make Amazon reject your appeal

20 June 2026 · 7 min · by Sergio Nolasco

A rejection may be caused by the diagnosis, the content of the reply or the evidence submitted. Review the complete case before sending anything again. These are seven common mistakes to avoid.

## 1. Not identifying the real root cause

The response should explain what caused the problem and which part of the operation can be corrected. Blaming a customer, a competitor or Amazon without evidence does not show that the issue is under control.

The root cause should be specific, consistent with the case data and linked to measures that you can implement and prove.

## 2. Sending a generic Plan of Action

A generic template may omit the policy, ASINs, timeline or evidence for the case. The text should address the exact request shown in Seller Central.

Each appeal must be written for your specific case, with your data, your ASINs, and your situation.

## 3. Not providing the correct documentary evidence

Stating that you have corrected something is not enough: Amazon wants proof. Valid invoices, certificates, screenshots, records... the evidence must meet Amazon's exact requirements (dates, format, traceability).

An invoice that does not meet the requested format, validity period or traceability requirements may not be accepted as evidence, even if the plan is well organised.

## 4. Repeating the same appeal expecting a different result

Resubmitting the same plan that was already rejected, with minor changes, only wastes attempts and credibility. Each rejection makes the next attempt more difficult.

If you've been rejected, the case needs to be rebuilt from scratch, not just tweaked.

## 5. Writing too much (or too little)

Amazon reads many Plans of Action every day. An endless text dilutes your message; one that is too short seems like you are not taking the issue seriously. The ideal structure: root cause, corrective actions already taken, and future preventive actions, with clear bullet points.

## 6. Ignoring deadlines

Many suspensions have a ticking clock. The longer you wait, the more sales and ranking you lose, and in some cases, appeal routes close. Acting quickly and effectively is part of the strategy.

## 7. Not escalating through the proper channels

When one route is exhausted, escalate only through a legitimate channel, with a clear reason and new information that justifies another review. Sending the same argument through more channels does not strengthen the case.

If Amazon has already rejected you, don't resend the same thing again. Tell us your case, and we'll tell you what went wrong.
